FREE AGENCY: I'm a Little Confused...

OK, so I LOVED the Asante Samuel signing to start the free agent signing period..(anything that helps us & hurts the Patriots is fine with me)...But after that...I have NO Idea what the Eagles are doing......They sign Chris Clemmons, who's kind of a "Tweener", having played both LB & DE with the Redskins & Raiders. (lord knows, the Eagles can never have enough D-Linemen, 'cause they always get hurt). They let Kearse,go, (which is fine...see above D-Line comment) & now Takeo Spikes is gone, which thins out the LB corps....

Still nothing @ Wide Receiver...Getting Randy Moss was a pipe-dream, he was going back to the Pats all along, but they didn't look at bringing back Stallworth, or Jevon Walker, or even Bernard Berrian, a deep threat, who would have complimented Kevin Curtis well...There's been some talk about trading Lito Sheppard to the Cardinals to get Larry Fitzgerald, but as good as Fitzgerald is, the idea of teaming Lito with Samuel @ the corners is very attractive....

Still waiting....

T.O. Gives Back

Well Well Well....

The Champagne is flowin' in the Birds front office these days as it's announced that T.O. has to "give back" to the Iggles. An arbitrator ruled in favor of the team and ordered Owens to return $1.725 Million of his original signing bonus...The only thing that would be better is if the money came directly from Jerry Jones....

NOW...if only Jason Avant would turn into a decent WR, so I can wear my "81" Jersey Again.... .

Here's to hoping the extra cash goes into the Birds Free Agent "bank" for off-season moves...

Giants Or Pats?

Despite the fact that the Eagles have spent the last month on the golf course, I'm finding it difficult to get excited about this year's Super Bowl Matchup...While I don't want to sound like a "Bitter & Broken" Eagles fan, I see no way for us to enjoy the outcome of Super Bowl 42...

We can't root for the Giants, (that's almost as bad as rooting for Dallas). AND I can't see us rooting for the Patriots. Other than the Super Bowl in Jacksonville a few years ago, I have nothing against their team, but I don't want Bill Belichick, the cheater, to be "Perfect"...SO, if the wife's been bugging you for a weekend "away"...maybe Super Bowl weekend is the time to go. Chances are, unless you're traveling to Arizona, you'll probably get a good deal :-)...

As for our team: The draft will be here before you know it. Will this team FINALLY draft an impact WR?? They better.

Despite all the people ready to run him out of town, we'll probably see #5 behind Center again this Fall...He needs some help....Kevin Kolb spent the entire season on the bench, so I can't see Andy Reid going into the new season with a QB who hasn't thrown an NFL pass...

And while we're at it, how about a kick returner? It's mind-boggling to me that this team NEVER has a guy who can
A: Catch The Ball
B: Actually get a few yards when/if he catches it...

While watching the Chargers in the playoffs, I couldn't help but notice how good RB Michael Turner would look in Eagles Green next year. He's a Free Agent, & would be a nice Compliment to Westbrook..allowing Brian to be moved around in the offensive scheme more...
